Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures by sterilizing instruments, organizing equipment, and ensuring cleanliness and tidiness.
- Assist dentists during dental procedures by handing them instruments, operating suction devices, and providing chairside assistance.
- Take and process dental X-rays, including preparing patients and ensuring proper positioning for accurate images.
- Perform preliminary dental examinations, such as taking patient medical histories and vital signs.
- Provide patient care instructions and information about dental procedures, oral hygiene, and post-treatment care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including updating medical histories and treatment information.
- Schedule patient appointments, manage patient flow, and handle administrative tasks as needed.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Requirements:
- Completion of a dental assisting program or relevant certification preferred. Entry-level positions may consider candidates without formal training.
- X-ray certification and CPR certification may be required or preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients and collaborating with the dental team.
- Proficiency in dental software and technology for managing patient records and X-rays.
